Educational Psychology assessments to support EHCP applications

Corban Psychology Ltd provides independent educational psychology assessments commissioned directly by schools and local authorities across Lancashire, Cumbria and the wider North West.

Commissioning: only via schools and local authorities – not directly from parents.

Who this service is for

This service is designed for schools and local authorities seeking independent, evidence-based educational psychology input to support an EHCP application or review.

  • Schools needing detailed EP reports for EHCP needs assessments.
  • SENCos & senior leaders seeking clear formulation and provision guidance.
  • Local authorities requiring independent EP involvement.
  • Cases involving complex or overlapping needs requiring a structured EP assessment.
Important: All work is commissioned by schools or local authorities. No direct private referrals from parents/carers.

How the process works

Designed to minimise workload for staff while gathering the information required for a high-quality EP report.

  1. Initial enquiry and agreement of commissioning.
  2. Sharing background information securely in advance.
  3. Educational psychology assessment, usually in school, combining observation, discussion, pupil views and assessment tasks. Remote elements can be used where appropriate and agreed.
  4. Analysis and report writing with clear recommendations aligned to EHCP needs.
  5. Report returned securely to school/LA for use in the EHCP process.
Timescales: Agreed at point of commissioning depending on caseload and school location.
